100th Anniversary Word War I display at the Windham Historical Society - By Dave Tanguay

Come see the 100 Anniversary World War One display at the Windham Historical Society Museum now through October 18. The Windham Historical Society currently has a WWI display of uniforms, personal items, booklets, posters and postcards from WWI provided by a society member. The items provide a backdrop for information on Windham residents who served in WWI including Lieutenant  C.W.W. Field who was the first resident of Cumberland County and Windham killed in action (KIA) during the War. Lt. Field is now remembered for the name associated with “Field-Allen” School, sports field and the local American Legion “Field-Allen” post. The society is open on Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and by appointment. FMI, call 892-1306.
