Horse and Rider Connection of Poland moving to Raymond

Horse and Rider Connection (HARC) of Poland, Maine is excited to announce their upcoming move to North Whing Farm in Raymond.

The 501(c3) organization's move to 19 Farm Road will enable the non-profit to expand their multiple programs for children and adults.

Horse and Rider Connection was formed in 2009 with the vision to help teens overcome life challenges through the healing power of horses. In the programs HARC offers, horses are used as a means to build trust and healthy relationships. Through their hard work on the farm, participants gain self-confidence, independence, a sense of team work, compassion, self-awareness, and a myriad of other skills needed to become productive members of society.

HARC’s summer horse camp for young boys and girls wishing to learn basic horsemanship skills begins July 10th. HARC also partners with local schools and other organizations to customize therapy programs for groups of 6-8 participants. Individual lessons are offered to children and adults, for those who’d prefer a one-on-one approach to horsemanship.

HARC has expanded their programming to include a Saturday women's group which focuses on the basics of horsemanship, as well as a Veteran’s program dedicated to Vets who might be suffering the challenges of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The Maine Mustang and Rescue Program is one of HARC's most intensive programs where participants can work with rescued horses. This year's first session begins June 26th and runs for 5 weeks. Other sessions run through August 4th.

Horse and Rider Connection will begin all programming at North Whing Farm on May 1, 2017.

It offers 182 acres of multiple trails for exploration, an indoor arena for inclement weather, round pen for training, home-grown premium hay and 24/7 on-site caregiver attention. Stalls are currently available for leasing. North Whing Farm is a natural horsemanship farm allowing horses the opportunity to live their life as naturally as possible.
