The end is near for Windham Public Library’s renovations by Jennifer Alvino, Library Director

The library renovation is nearing completion! The Windham Public Library will be closed from Monday, March 19 through Sunday, April 8 for the final stage of renovation, which includes moving books to their proper places, some additional paint and carpeting, running phone and computer lines, and getting ourselves organized in our new spaces.

Most items checked out will not be due until April 9th, but you may drop items in the Drop Box if you choose. Although our phones will be unavailable, most items can be renewed online.

We will re-open on Monday, April 9 with a new Circulation Desk, new study rooms, new shelving, paint, and carpeting. On Thursday, April 12 please join us from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. for our Grand Re-Opening. We will celebrate our new space, but also the efforts of staff and community and the patience of our patrons. It’s been a long four months (never mind all the planning time!); but the end is near, and it will be worth the wait.
