Main Stage Academy unveils new location with an open house - Megin Hatch

Main Stage Academy held their grand opening celebration on Saturday, August 9 at their beautiful new location at 824 Roosevelt Trail in North Windham. Visitors enjoyed mini classes as well as an impromptu performance by current students.

Main Stage Academy was formed in 2011 and has operated out of directors Bryce and Suzy Cropper's home. Now that they have moved into the new studio, they will expand their class offerings. Children and teenagers ages 4 to18 can take classes in singing, dancing and acting.  Starting this fall, they will also offer classes in piano, sight singing, and private voice lessons, in addition to musical theatre classes. Main Stage Academy will be holding auditions for Company Groups which rehearse weekly, with students learning music and staging for high energy musical-revue style shows. Auditions are this Saturday, August 16th at 9 a.m. Anyone between the ages of 6 to18 is welcome to audition.

In the fall, directors Suzy and Bryce Cropper will continue teaching, along with other talented staff members such as Shelbi Wassick, Patrick Martin, Mary Wassick, Diane Hancock, Symantha Morales and Melissa Schulz.

Some of the other benefits of participation in Main Stage Academy include: Learning harmony and solo singing, microphone technique, multiple styles of dance, audition preparation, studio recording experience, showmanship, confidence, a sense of accomplishment and affirmation, working together with peers, and the forming of lasting friendships.

Director Suzy said, "Our vision at Main Stage Academy is to provide ‘triple threat’ training for enthusiastic performers with an emphasis in singing, dancing and acting. We envision becoming a musical theatre training hub for our region so that youth in our area can have the opportunity to develop the skills and live performance experience that will help prepare them to be able to walk into an audition and feel confident, whether for a local production or the world's biggest stages.”
Main Stage Academy is active on Facebook under MainStageKids and its website is www.mainstageacademy.com.
