Studio Flora was a buzz on Monday while ladies from the community joined Studio Flora owner Ann Jordan and her daughter Libby Walker as they made 750 bows for wreathes to be placed at the graves of veteran’s in the Windham cemeteries.
Sue
Nichols, of Main Street, came to help when she saw the story in The Windham
Eagle, according to Linda Griffin. Karen Mitchell, of Sandbar Road, came to
help Monday night because once she heard about the project she wanted to help.
She also brought her friend and neighbor Loretta Towne.
Sue
Graham, of South Windham, (lady on the left with the blue shirt) was dropped
off so she could help make bows, but later, when her husband Kevin returned he
stayed for an hour and helped.
Carol
Manchester (red top) of Basin Road, helped as well. As people heard of the
project, they stopped by to make a bow or two. Christine (long, brown hair) was
a customer who decided to help while she was there.
The
wreaths will be put on the graves on Saturday and Sunday by local Boy Scout
troops and Windham veterans’ organizations.
To
help with this cause, donation jars and flyers have been left around Windham,
or call 650-7484 for more information.
