MSAD 15 Bond referendum now in the public's hands - By Tracy Scheckel
The MSAD 15 School Board conducted its
final public forum and hearing on the two referendum questions that will appear
on the November 4 ballot. Voters will be asked to
weigh in on $6,623,080 for building and parking improvements and repairs as
well as the addition of four classrooms and two small instruction spaces at the
middle school and at the high school, the complete renovation of two chemistry
labs, the addition of baseball and softball fields, the relocation and
reconstruction of the football field and track, and the associated
infrastructure to support the field
improvements. A second question asks for approval of an additional $738,000, if
the first question passes, for an upgrade from natural grass to artificial turf for the football field.
At the forum, Steven Blatt and
Associates Architect and Sevee and Mahar Engineering presented their findings
and proposals for the buildings and fields respectively. The district’s director of finance and operation Diane Boucher gave an overview of the tax
impact to homeowners. The
presentations were followed by questions and comments from the public. Visit
www.msad15.org to review all the
information that was presented.
