Last Thursday the Sebago Lake Rotary
hosted its fifth annual Pizza Challenge at the old Goodwill store next to the
post office in Windham. The building was packed with pizza connoisseurs. The
varieties were many from blueberry pizza to a white sauced steak and cheese
pizza. If one went hungry it was his own fault. There were raffles,
entertainment and the all important voting, keeping the guests entertained.
Judges circulated through the crowd,
hitting every table and one or two may have commented on how hard it was to eat
so much pizza. The community voted on the best all around pizza and the winner
was Crazy Stallion/Umbrella Factory. They also won the most creative with
macaroni and cheese pizza and the blueberry pizza.
Other trophies went to Little Caesar’s
for best crust, Casco Village Variety for best meat and Saint Joseph’s College
for best veggie.
