Colby
Mizner from Jordan-Small Middle School is The Windham Eagle student of the
week. Colby will be entering seventh grade in the fall.
“Every
once in a while you come across a young person who isn’t afraid to speak his or
her mind and stand up for those who don’t yet have a voice. Colby Mizner is one
of these people. He not only advocates for himself and others, but he does so
in a way that shows maturity. He is a naturally inquisitive student who is
constantly looking for opportunities to show his learning. He likes to help
solve problems and does so with great success. A natural writer, Colby
continuously shares his ability to see beyond the text, and he uses this gift
of analysis in all of his classes. He is also a great basketball player, which
highlights his ability to work with others toward a common goal,” said the JSMS
team who chooses the students.
Colby
wants to be a basketball player when he grows up. Education is going to get him
to college. “I like school because you get to walk from class to class in the
middle school,” Colby said. He favorite subject is science.
Colby
is the son of Nicole and Scott. His brother is Trevor and he has two dogs, two
cats and one rabbit.
