Town of Windham's annual Community Tree Lighting Event attendance up from last year

Although it is difficult to establish the exact attendance of Sunday’s Community Tree Lighting in Windham on Sunday, November 26, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., the approximate guess is about 500 people. “We know that by 5:20 p.m. the Refuge Church had already served 360 cups of hot cocoa,” stated Linda Brooks, Director of Windham Parks a Rec. “It was truly a community effort, with contributions coming from our department, the Fire Department, the Library, the Public Works Department, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Refuge Church, Be the Influence, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, and Nancy Cash-Cobb’s 3rd Grade Chorus from the Primary School . . . to name a few.”
