There is one lucky Cumberland County resident who is a
very happy raffle winner. Evergreen Credit Union announced that Paula
Christensen, a Standish resident and longtime account holder in their Windham
branch, is the winner of a Yamaha EX WaveRunner Jet Ski. She is the sole winner
of a 2-month fundraising raffle held to raise funds for the local
non-profits: Portland Trails, food pantries and lake associations. The
winning ticket was picked by Jim Davenport, President of Long Lake Marina, who
also donated the jet ski.
“The $6,100 raised from this raffle helps us make more
donations in the many communities we serve,” stated Jason Lindstrom,
President/CEO of Evergreen. “In addition, the promotion highlights a very
generous local business while creating excitement for the hundreds of raffle
participants who set their eyes on a new jet ski; a win-win for all!”
The jet ski also has special meaning to the winner. “My
sister is currently battling pancreatic cancer, and I visit her regularly to
make sure that I get in as many visits as possible. But she lives across
the lake from me, and it takes about 20 minutes in the car. Well, today that
just changed. Now I can see her quickly and it will be so much
easier. I had a good feeling about winning. I guess someone was looking
over us.”
Evergreen Credit Union is one of Maine’s largest credit
unions and offers mortgage, consumer, and business services, with branches in
Portland, South Portland, Windham and Naples.
