Interested veterans should contact Bob Chapin and let him know that you want to participate. There is no charge for this activity.
The event will start at 8 a.m. at Sebago State Park’s main boat ramp area with hot coffee and donuts and a chance for fishermen to meet their captains for the morning and find their assigned boats.
The fishing will commence at about 8:30 a.m. and run until 12:30 or 1 p.m. and then return to the park for a prepared barbecue with specialty smoked pork, or hotdogs with rolls, cold salads, chips, drinks and a cake to celebrate.
Word has it that there may be awards for largest fish caught by weight, regardless of species.
If this appeals to you, please contact Bob Chapin, 571-217-1700 or 207-655-1028 right away as seats are filling quickly.
They have made provisions for mobility challenged vets, but please let them know of any assistance you may need.
The State Park boat launch is equipped with a dual boat launch, port-a-potty, adequate parking for trailers and trucks.
Licenses have been waived by IFW for disabled vets, all others must follow all IF&W rules.
This is an outdoor event so dress warmly and mask up at your own discretion.
