March results show stability for Cumberland County real estate market

Cumberland County saw continued stability for the month of March when compared to the same time frame last year.

According to recent statistics released by Maine Listings, units sold went up by 9.4 percent this past month when compared to March 2025, while median sales prices increased by 16.86 percent.

While several towns experienced significant increases when compared to last year, many of those increases came from small transaction counts and do not appear to reflect a countywide shift.

“Overall, March showed a steady Cumberland County market, with healthy year-over-year gains in both sales activity and median price,” said Yvonne Myer, President of the Greater Portland Board of REALTORS®. “The month’s larger town-level fluctuations are consistent with local inventory changes, but the countywide numbers continue to point to a stable market environment.”

Myer said that Greater Portland Board of REALTORS® will continue to monitor inventory levels and price fluctuations throughout the area.

The March 2026 market statistics are from Maine Real Estate Information System, Inc. Data reflects median sold prices for single-family homes reported as sold in March 2026. All statistics represent point-in-time data collected on the seventh business day of each month and may reflect late reporting of sold data from a prior period.
