Weight Watchers of Maine offers free program for Maine police, fire and rescue personnel

SOUTH PORTLAND - Weight Watchers of Maine, an independent franchise of Weight Watchers International, is pleased to offer for a second year, “Fit to Rescue ME,’ a special program to provide free Weight Watchers services through meetings to Maine policeman, firemen and emergency medical technicians. The Maine franchise is offering the local program again as a community service because we had so much success last year.

FIT to Rescue ME will allow any active responder to attend Weight Watchers meetings free of charge until he or she reaches personal weight goal. Free enrollment will be accepted between May 18 through June 7, 2013.

“Our public safety officials are always here for us,” said Jackie Conn. “This is our way of saying thanks and giving back to the community. Weight Watchers is proud to offer this support, and we hope that safety and rescue personnel throughout Maine will consider participating,” stated Conn.

If you are an active duty fireman, policeman or emergency medical responder/EMT, or know someone who could benefit from the program, and would like more information, please call Maureen at 415-8083 or 1-800-651-6000.
