The Gray – New Gloucester Development Corporation (GNGDC) in cooperation with the towns of Gray and New Gloucester is hosting the business summit that will provide a forum for local businesses to gather and share information about economic development in the GNG region. Keynote speakers, Charles Lawton and John Butera will share the podium with members of the business community to provide information about economic development incentives, regional branding and business development programs and resources.
Lawton
of Planning Solutions in Portland specializes in economic policy, fiscal impact studies and economic
development strategy development. He has worked in private business, in state
government and was a professor at the University of Maine at Farmington. He is
also a weekly Maine Economy columnist for the Maine Sunday Telegram.
Buters is the senior economic advisor
for Governor LePage's administration. He advises on economic development and
job creation issues. In addition, he has policy responsibilities for economic
and community development, business finance, workforce development and labor
issues.
The
GNG Business Summit is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 11 at the
Spring Meadows Banquet Facility on Lewiston Road in Gray. A cash bar and light
refreshments will be served, and an RSVP by October 27 is requested. The event is free to all businesses located
in Gray and New Gloucester, and for a nominal charge to businesses outside of
