Windham resident joins MaineCF Committee

Courtney Walsh of Windham has joined the Maine Community Foundation’s (MaineCF) Cumberland County Committee.

on the committee, she will serve as a local ambassador for
the foundation, sharing knowledge and providing

MaineCF’s county committees are made up of community members who live or work in the county and serve as local ambassadors for the foundation, sharing their knowledge and providing on-the-ground, local leadership for the foundation.

Walsh is a financial advisor with Portland Global Advisors. She has been involved with Habitat for Humanity building projects throughout New England and was a volunteer with the New Hampshire Granite State Ambassadors program. She has previously held positions at Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC, Wells Fargo Clearing Services, LLC, and Portland Global Advisors, LLC.

She graduated from Radford University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in English and earned an masters degree in Financial Planning from Kansas State University in 2022.

Other committee members include Lennie Burke of Brunswick; Erin Clark of Westbrook; Martha Dumont of Falmouth; Aaron Frederick of Gorham; Susie Guthro of Bridgton; and Rose Barboza, Nathan Davis, Louisa Donelson, Melissa Hue and Andrea Weisman Summers of Portland.

The Cumberland County Committee’s volunteer advisors review grant proposals for MaineCF’s Community Building Grant Program and recommend grant awards from the Cumberland County Fund.

Community Building supports a broad range of projects and organizations across the state, including arts, education, environment, economic development and human services. In 2025, the Cumberland County Fund awarded 21 grants totaling $188,000.

The Cumberland County Fund was established in 2005. The purpose of the fund is to support nonprofit organizations and projects that serve Cumberland County. This fund is a permanent, grantmaking resource that grows through contributions from individuals, businesses, and foundations. These partners share our commitment to strengthen Maine communities and increase charitable resources for all.

The Cumberland County Committee is made up of leaders who live and/or work in Cumberland County. These advisors serve as local ambassadors for the foundation, review proposals, recommend grant awards, and help build philanthropic resources in the region.

The Cumberland County Committee awards grants from the Cumberland County Fund and other related funds through the Community Building Grant Program. They make recommendations to fund proposals that meet the grant program criteria and have the greatest potential for positive impact on the quality of life in Cumberland County.
