Through the event the organizations were able to collect more than 3,100 pounds of donated goods and nearly $3,000 in monetary contributions to benefit CrossWalk Community Outreach and Good Shepherd Food Bank.

In total, more than 100 vehicles made their way through the drive-through donation event, dropping off contributions before stopping to meet Ashley, Ryan, Jedi, Chase, and Dixie of the Maine Cabin Masters reality television show.

The Great Northern Docks staff and facilities committed to the task of managing the flow of traffic while volunteers from the CrossWalk Community Outreach collected and sorted the donations.

Lakes Region residents along with visitors from other states, such as Ohio, Oklahoma, and Texas, lined up to give and greet, eager to meet the Maine Cabin Masters.

“The overwhelming joyful energy during the event can’t be described; it must be experienced.” said Sam Merriam, the owner of Great Northern Docks.

Now in its seventh year, the annual food drive continues to bring people together in support of neighbors facing food insecurity.

Merriam said Great Northern Docks looks forward to carrying on the tradition next October and welcoming the community back for another year of giving.
