The Kiwanis Club of Windham, active for 87 years - since 1930, may be ending unless it can attract more members. Currently there are only four active members.
The
Kiwanis Club has a long history of civic engagement in Windham and across the
globe. Every year it gives out scholarships to Windham High School’s graduating
seniors, and it has sponsored the Windham High School Key Club for many years.
It also supports the Children’s Trauma Center in Boston. Internationally, Kiwanis
has been active in the Immunization Program for third world countries and in
the Iodine Deficiency Program. It has also contributed to building toilet
facilities in Africa.
Kiwanis
welcomes new members. All those who may be interested in community service are
invited to call 892-3684 for further information.
