VFW Post Commander Willie Goodman |
Veterans from the four Windham veterans
groups broke bread together at Dena’s Lobster House and Tavern Sunday
afternoon. The Veterans of Foreign War Post 10643 hosted the dinner for the
post, American Legion Post 148, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 148 and the
members of the Windham Veterans Association.
“It was fun and important for our
veterans’ groups’ members, their spouses and guests to share a delicious meal,
play trivia and mingle,” said post Commander Willie Goodman. “This was a
great way to come together socially as we approach the Christmas season. We
all work hard throughout the year to support our local veterans and this was a
day to show support and appreciation of each other."
In addition to dinner, the veterans played
Christmas trivia for prizes and held three raffles to raise funds for
additional veterans’ programs.
