Each year during the Town of Windham’s Memorial Day
parade a group of veterans are recognized.
This year, the town’s Korean War vets were selected for a special
recognition in the parade and at the Memorial Day ceremony. Post 148 Korean War
Veterans enjoy a ride in a 1952 Korean War, M-37 Dodge Military Vehicle in the parade.
Vets included: (L) Don Swander in Cab w/driver and Cadet 1SG Dan Wirtz. In the
rear are: Jerry Black, Walter Braley, Milton Rogers, Alden Whittemore and
Lyndon Varney. The military vehicle is maintained by the Joint Military Cadets
of America located at Windham High School.
